Cambridge began as a composite city in 1973, when the three municipalities of Galt, Preston and Hespeler and the settlement of Blair were amalgamated into a single legal entity. Cambridge is blessed with three historic core commercial areas to preserve for future generations. Parks, trails and nature reserves can be enjoyed all over Cambridge. Today, the city of Cambridge is a thriving, cosmopolitan city with a population of approximately 124,000 and an average age of 36.4 years old. Located within the Regional Municipality of Waterloo and the gateway to Canada’s Technology Triangle, Cambridge is minutes from major metropolitan cities and in close proximity to three international airports, as well as three US border crossings.
And, as one of the very few cities outside of Metro Toronto to have the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway (401) running through its midst and not along its edges, it is well poised to take advantage of all opportunities for growth now and in the future.
